Mr. Lamothe and Mrs. Magnan stayed in a prêt-à-camper at Gollé Goulu this winter. They talk about their experience at the Gite du Marais, which they were able to stay in for a week in February thanks to a 20% discount for Fadoq members. They were also able to take advantage of the winter package, which included a small product from the Goulu garden.

Let them show us, through their eyes and with their words, this little corner of Lanaudière in the heart of the Laurentian mountains...

Need to walk in nature. Need to turn off the Internet. Need to reconnect with what's essential. We love rustic outdoor camping. But, you might say, "winter's too cold for me". Le Gollé Goulu in Saint-Côme is the perfect place to recharge your batteries, summer or winter.

This was our first experience of ready-to-camp. The welcome was most charming and cordial. We spent three days without electricity or running water. No Internet. Only the cell phone connected us to civilization. Incidentally, as far as the cell phone is concerned, the sanitary block has a few electrical outlets that can recharge our devices, provide us with nice hot showers and very clean heated toilets.

In our gite, light is transmitted by a solar system that provides lighting for the building and the ecological outhouse adjoining the gite. Heating is provided by a small, highly efficient wood-burning stove.

We were impressed by the quality of the gite's construction, its rustic landscape, warm interior decor, solar lighting system, propane hob, crockery and set of cooking utensils. In fact, all we had to do was bring our own sleeping bags and food, along with our own lingerie and sports equipment. And we can get to our gite with our car, which we park nearby. All the gites are located at the edge of the forest, surrounded by mature trees and completely isolated from each other.

Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails are nearby. Le Gollé Goulu offers several short snowshoe trails, linked to each other and to the Saint-Côme municipal trail network. From the lookout on the L'Assomption trail (#6), you can enjoy a superb view of the Gollé Goulu site, the surrounding mountains and the L'Assomption river. The paths leading to the gites are faultlessly maintained: they are wide, very flat and very safe.

And for Fadoq members, Le Gollé Goulu takes great care. They've concocted a special package for us to enjoy the zenitude of a weekday stay.

Being out in nature, walking to relax, making that minimum effort to regenerate, that's what brings me to the woods and reconnects me to my source. Tracks of hares, foxes and coyotes, spotted woodpeckers, barred owls and squirrels are all here. In summer, rainbow trout introduce campers to the pleasures of fishing. Le Gollé Goulu encourages education and the sharing of knowledge, whether by walking in the forest or discovering the orchard-potager, which is beginning to bear fruit. Le Gollé Goulu is the perfect place to get in tune with nature. A new vacation destination to discover, and I'll definitely be back to see the colors of our different seasons.
